Look after your lawn
After a long recent couple of frosty months, it’s no surprise that most gardeners have probably been less inclined to go outside – let alone spend time mowing their lawn. With the warmer weather approaching, why not make a start by mowing your lawn. Make sure you wait for dryer weather, and the for the last frost to be well and truly behind us.
Spruce up your gardening tools
After months of being locked away in the shed, it is finally time to start using your gardening tools once again. But it may be worth giving them a clean; a quick once over to make sure they are in good condition before being put to good use this Spring. Irrigatia’s own gardener George recommends treating wooden handles with linseed oil and honing tools that need to be sharp.
Deadhead those daffodils
As all gardeners know, daffodils mark the arrival of Spring. But unfortunately, not every Daffodil makes it to full bloom, so it is vital to deadhead your daffodils once their colour starts to fade. By doing this, it allows those beautiful flowers to store energy so they are able to flower the following year.
